Our Space

This is Conrad's cabin. Most of our stuff is still in storage
so it will fill up. Mark has a similar cabin in the same hull.

Conrad and Mark are happy to have their own space on the boat. There are lots of shelves and cabinets to store toys and clothes. A lot more toys and clothes are coming so we hope there will be room.

We eat most of our meals in the cockpit.

Goodbye to friends

A page from Mark's goodbye book. Conrad kind
of looks like he's strangling  Mark, doesn't he?
Mark and Conrad's last day at school was Friday. The teachers at Mark's school put together the traditional goodbye book with drawings from his classmates. One example, "I will miss you Mark. I hope you come Wednesday and Tuesday for a visit." Others were also specific about what days he should come. It was very sweet.

Conrad brought goody bags for his classmates and Mom was the Secret Reader (the clue that gave her away was that she likes to eat spaghetti and pickles for breakfast; no, she is not expecting).

He will really miss his best friend Nolan. There will be trade-offs with this boat thing, for sure.

This is where Dad has been for the last couple of weeks. It's a boat yard in the Bahamas. It is very industrial and you have to drive to go anywhere scenic. At least it is quiet at night (except for the one noise-filled night, including bad Karaoke, from a neighboring mega yacht crew party). But the sounds of sanding and repairs on other boats start up early each morning. So there is no sleeping in.

Dad has spent a lot of time cleaning  out lockers and holds (there was a lot of old spilled paint and other gooey stuff in them). Our friends Pete and Hilary from Iowa came down to visit and did an incredible amount of work. They are the best guests ever.

Internet can be weak and access goes out a lot so we have not been able to talk very much but yesterday we had a nice long video Skype. The plan is to see Dad in Florida next week.
